“Children’s Fair”- arranged on the celebration of the 103rd Birth Anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Children’s Day-2023 by Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Karachi

 

Karachi, 17 March 2023:

 

Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Karachi arranges a colorful day-long Children’s Fair on 17 March as a part of the celebration of the 103rd Birth Anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Children’s Day-2023.

 

Deputy High Commissioner S. M. Mahbubul Alam inaugurated the Children’s Fair at 10am on 17 March, which continued till 11pm. The Chancery was decorated with colorful lights, balloons, banners and festoons, and the Portraits of the Father of the Nation.

 

Deputy High Commissioner S. M. Mahbubul Alam along with the Children and their parents paid profound tributes to the Father of the Nation by placing floral wreaths at the portrait of the Father of the Nation. Deputy High Commissioner along with the Children also cut a birthday cake to mark the 103rd birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation and the National Children Day- 2023. Three different documentaries on Bangladesh, her history of Independence and the life of the Father of the Nation were screened.

 

An Art Competition reflecting Bangladesh, People and Nature of Bangladesh, History of Bangladesh and the Father of the Nation was arranged for the children. The Mission also organized a competition of Poem Recitation. Another competition on Impromptu Speech on Bangabandhu and Bangladesh was organized. Fun Sports for the children and their parents were also organized. There was special arrangement for a Guided Tour to the “Banganadhu Corner” for the children to enlighten them with the life of the Father of the Nation and the glorious history of independence of Bangladesh. A small Book Fair was also a part of the Children’s Fair and the books were on Bangladesh and Bangabandhu and the history, art, culture, and tradition of Bangladesh to orient the children to Bangladesh and her rich history. The whole of the day of ‘Chidren’s Fair” was full of festivity, educating and enthusiasm.   

 

In a gala ceremony, the Deputy High Commissioner S. M. Mahbubul Alam gave away prizes, crests, and certificates to the children and all other winners with full of applauses and cheers. This was followed by a cultural performances by the children. A dinner was served with varieties of traditional and delicious Bangladeshi cuisines.   

 

Apart from the formal programs arranged by the Deputy High Commission in Karachi in the early morning on the Day, the Children’s Fair to mark the day was highly appreciated by the participants and guests. The Fair was highly educative and encouraging for the young children. The Fair was focused to imbue the young minds of the children with love for Bangladesh, People of Bangladesh and her history particularly the history of independence of Bangladesh and the Father of the Nation. The Fair had diverse elements and segments which made those vivid and appealing.  

 

The Deputy High Commissioner paid rich tribute to the memory of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and recalled with deep reverence his outstanding contribution to the independence of Bangladesh. He encouraged the young children to know and to inculcate the ideals and principles of the Father of the Nation and to play a role in future in building a peaceful, prosperous and happy nation –the Golden Bangla-as was dreamed by the Father of the Nation.
