Iraq, 26 July 2022:

The Bangladesh Embassy in Baghdad organized a seminar on trade and investment promotion scopes on 26 July 2022 in the Seminar Hall of Iraqi Contractors’ Federation with its Ambassador Mr. Fazlul Bari in the Chair. Director General of Foreign Economic Relations of the Ministry of Trade of Iraq, Mr. Adel Masuoodi, also spoke in the Seminar as the Chief Guest. The President of Iraqi Federation of Industries, Mr. Adel O. Hussein and Mr. Ali Al-Sanafi, Chairman of Contractors’ Federation along with 60 other business personalities attended the program.

The key-note presentation and the open discussion elaborated the fiscal and non-fiscal incentives provisioned by the Bangladesh government for the foreign investors. Referring to the current total trade statistics, the Seminar also highlighted on the areas where there are scopes and potentials to enhance and diversify trade significantly between two economies. It also emphasized on the need for exchange of business delegations, organizing sector specific seminars and participating in trade fairs in each other’s country.

Thanking the dignitaries and business personalities for their interest on Bangladesh’s products, the Bangladesh Ambassador to Iraq expressed the hope of increased mutual cooperation to reap the optimum benefit from the opportunities. The Bangladesh Embassy will take necessary measures in the light of recommendations, the Ambassador added.
