The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with the UN Office of the High Representative for LDCs, LLDCs and SIDS (UN-OHRLLS) is organizing ‘High Level Meeting on Achieving Sustainable Graduation for the LDCs' to be held in Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel, Dhaka on 29-30 November 2017. Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali, MP, Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed, MP and Fekitamoeloa Katoa ‘Utoikamanu, Under-Secretary-General & High Representative, UN-OHRLLS will kindly grace the Opening of the event. High government representatives from the LDCs including Bangladesh, UN officials, academia, civil societies and think tanks from home and abroad will participate in the event.

The one and half day high level meeting is intended to strengthen the understanding of the technicalities of the graduation criteria and the process. The event will also assess an in-depth realization of the potential costs and challenges associated with LDC graduation to better prepare for addressing impending challenges of graduation by identifying appropriate policy measures, plans and creating synergies in realizing SDGs and a sustainable graduation. The meeting will also provide a platform for knowledge sharing between recently graduated LDCs and those about to graduation.

Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, MP will kindly grace the Closing ceremony as Chief Guest which will be chaired by Foreign Secretary Md. Shahidul Haque.
