Bangladesh Deputy High Commissioner in Karachi, S. M. Mahbubul Alam had at least ten (10) separate business meetings and interactions during 11-17 April 2023 with more than fifteen (15) eminent industrialists, entrepreneurs, investors, businessmen, cultural activists, bankers who are Chairman, Vice-Chairman, President, Vice President, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Managing Director, Managing Partner, Owner & Proprietor and Director of their respective business enterprises or industries in Pakistan.
Deputy High Commissioner S. M. Mahbubul Alam had separate meetings and interactions with Mr. Khurram Tariq Sayeed, Vice President of Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry and CEO, Planet Group, Mr. Masood Ahmed, CEO, Zeenat Group, Mr. Shahid Anwal, CEO, Lucy Corporation, Mr. Muhammad Qamar, Chairman, Goodluck Corporation, Mr. Khurram Shah Jilani, Group Head, Dreamlands Group, Mr. Ibrahim Habib, CEO, Habib Builders, Mr. Altaf Tai, Chairman, Altaf Tai Builders & Developers, Mr. Shaukat Ali Suleman Omeron, Vice-President, the Federation Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) & CEO, Lal Kella Group, Mr. Shahzad Malik, Chief Operating Officer (COO), Feroze1888 Textiles Ltd, Mr. Rashid Hasan, Sr. Executive Officer & Mr. Hasan Sultan, Sr Marketing Manager of Feroze1888 Textiles Ltd. and Mr. Ali Dossa, Managing Director, Alliance Pvt Ltd.
During the meetings the Deputy High Commissioner S. M. Mahbubul highlighted on the socio-economic development of Bangladesh. Deputy High Commissioner mentioned that Bangladesh has become a ‘Role Model’ of socio-economic development in the world. He briefed that Bangladesh is currently one of the five fastest growing economies in the world. Bangladesh currently ranks the 35th largest economy in the world in terms of GDP. He added that Bangladesh has been working hard to establish 100 Specialized Economic Zones (SEZs) across the country with foreign investment friendly policies. He invited the potential investors, industrialist, entrepreneurs and businesspersons from Pakistan to invest in Bangladesh. He also invited the businessmen to import products from Bangladesh.
The eminent businesspersons and dignitaries were deeply impressed with the success and positive stories of Bangladesh. They highly appreciated the impressive socio-economic developments in Bangladesh. They also expressed their willingness to invest and to do business with Bangladesh. However, almost every one of the eminent businesspersons requested to ease the business visa regime for businesspersons from Pakistan.
