Bangladesh Consulate General in Toronto observed the 3^rd Digital Bangladesh Day -2019 today and organised a discussion session at the conference room of the Consulate highlighting the significance of the day. The discussion was chaired by the Consul General Mr. Nayem Uddin Ahmed. The theme song of the day, a video message by the Hon’ble ICT State Minister Mr. Zunaid Ahmed Palak and a short documentary on the achievement of Bangladesh in ICT sector in the last decade were screened.

In his remarks, Consul General Nayem Uddin Ahmed told that we need to believe in “Digital Bangladesh”from our heart to fulfill the “Vision-2021&2041”of the present government. All Bangladeshi nationals should be committed from their respective position to the vision of “Digital Bangladesh”. He also said that Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had dreamt of “Sonar Bangla” and his able daughter Hon’ble Prime Minister of Bangladesh H.E. Sheikh Hasina has been relentlessly working to fulfill Bangabandhu’s dream. “Digital Bangladesh” has been instrumental to this end. He also mentioned that under the dynamic leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh has remarkably performed in the ICT sectors, compared to may other countries in our region.

Stressing the theme of 3^rd Digital Bangladesh Day, Consul General urged all to take the most advantage of technology, but to remain cautious at the same time about the negative consequences of misusing technology, particularly while using social media.
