Bangladesh Armed Forces Day was celebrated in a festive atmosphere at Bangladesh Embassy, ​​Ankara. Today on 21 November 2022, a reception was organized on the occasion of Bangladesh Armed Forces Day at Hilton SA Hotel in Ankara. Major General Hüseyin DUMAN, Technical Services General Directorate, Ministry of National Defence, Ankara, Turkiye, was present as the chief guest at the reception. Senior officers of the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Foreign Affairs,Turkish Military, Defense Attaches of various countries working in Turkiye, senior officials of the Turkish Government, members of the diplomatic corps, defense industry representatives, academics, members of print and electronic media, all officials/employees of Bangladesh Embassy and Expatriate Bangladeshis were also present in the occasion.    

The program started with the national anthems of Bangladesh and Turkiye. Thereafter, Defense Attache Brigadier General Md. Rashed Iqbal, ndc, psc, G delivered his welcome speech where he expressed deep respect to the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, martyred and wounded freedom fighters in the Liberation War and delivered the welcome speech. He also, highlighted the significance of the day and reverently recalled the glorious role of the Bangladesh Armed Forces in the freedom struggle of Bangladesh.    

Ms. Shahnaz Ghazi, Acting Ambassador of Bangladesh to Turkiye, discussed various aspects of Bangladesh-Turkey bilateral and military relations in her speech. She shed light on the glorious independence war of Bangladesh and the incomparable contribution of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the development of an independent country. She highlighted the modernization of Bangladesh Armed Forces under Forces Goal 2030. Then she discussed in detail about the important contribution of Bangladesh Armed Forces in the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in establishing global peace and the important bilateral military relations of Bangladesh with Turkiye. She aspired that, the relations between the two brotherly countries, Turkiye and Bangladesh, will continue to grow. 988888888809i

Major General Hossein Doman, the chief guest of the event, congratulated on the Armed Forces Day and highlighted the military relations between Turkiye and Bangladesh. During the celebration, knifing on a cake was done to mark the occasion of Armed Forces Day and dinner was served to the invited guests.
