Ambassador Mr. Mehdi Hasan Presents Letter of Credence to the President of Finland

 

Helsinki (16 February 2023) - Mr. Mehdi Hasan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Bangladesh to Finland presented his credentials to the President of Republic of Finland Mr. Sauli Niinistö at the Presidential Palace on 15 February 2023 at 1300 hrs.

 

The ceremonies of the day began by courtesy meeting and exchange of greetings with the Under-Secretary of State, Chief of Protocol, Deputy Chief of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Then, the Ambassador was escorted to the Presidential Palace by transport by the Foreign Ministry alongwith other 06 non-resident Ambassadors, where the high officials of the presidential palace greeted the Ambassadors in a simple ceremony and a guard of honor was provided by the military guards. Then, the Ambassador was received by the President Mr. Sauli Niinistö for formal audience, where he accepted the Letter of Credence of Mr. Mehdi Hasan as the new Bangladesh Ambassador to Finland. Bangladesh Ambassador conveyed the greetings of the Hon'ble President and the Hon'ble Prime Minister of Bangladesh to the President and people of Finland. In response, the President conveyed the greetings of the people and government of Finland to the President and Prime Minister of Bangladesh. During the audience, the Finnish president expressed satisfaction over the bilateral relations between the two countries and appreciated the role of the Government of Bangladesh in poverty alleviation and socio-economic development of Bangladesh. The ambassador highlighted the priorities of the government of Bangladesh in line with the Vision 2041 to become a developed and Smart nation by 2041. The ambassador also briefed the President different aspects of bilateral relationship between Bangladesh and Finland with particular focus in sectors of trade and investment, possible manpower export, collaboration in education, IT, technology transfer, climate change, green transition etc, The Ambassador also briefed the President about Rohingya issue and requested Finland to take meaningful measures so that Myanmar authorities take sincere and visible steps to create conducive environment in Rakhine State ensuring their safe, sustainable and dignified return to their homeland. The President wished Bangladesh Ambassador a successful tenure as the Bangladesh Ambassador.

 

During the ceremonies, Bangladesh Ambassador was accompanied by the Second Secretary Mr. Shah Md Ashraful Alam Mohon.
