02 July 2018 (Monday), Cairo: Bangladesh and Egypt signed an agreement on Economic and Technical Cooperation today at the Ministry of Investment and International Cooperation of Egypt. Bangladesh Ambassador to Egypt Muhammad Ali Sorcar and Ministry for Investment and International Co-operation of Egypt Ms. Sahar Nasr signed the Agreement on behalf of their respective government on 02 July 2018. The agreement aims to promote and support economic and technical co-operation between the two countries, according to priorities stipulated in the policies and strategies for socio-economic development of Bangladesh and Egypt. This impetus to the signing of the agreement was given at Foreign Office Consultations between Bangladesh and Egypt held in Dhaka on 20 March 2018.
After signing the Agreement, Ambassador Sorcar said before the media that Bangladesh and Egypt has similar aspiration of socio economic development in different fields. He further said that this agreement would open up door for the businessmen and investors of both the countries to boost economic cooperation. Ministry Sahar Nasr said that the agreement would contribute to sharing knowledge, experience, business and investment to achieve socio economic development of Bangladesh and Egypt.
