Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Karachi arranges a “Crest and Certificate Award Ceremony” as a part of the celebration of the “Dhaka OIC Youth Capital-2020” at the Chancery. Distinguished awardees from different categories of competition who had participated from Pakistan and finally became winners attended the ceremony along with their family members. Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Karachi S. M. Mahbubul Alam handed over the crests, certificates, and gifts to the awardees in a ceremonial program.
Deputy High Commissioner S. M. Mahbubul Alam briefed the awardees and invited guests that the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF), an entity affiliated to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) selected Bangladesh in 2019 as the “OIC Youth Capital-2020” marking a significant recognition for the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina in the development of youth sector in Bangladesh. The yearlong grand events during 2020 marked the Birth Centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Deputy High Commissioner said that the event related to the “OIC Youth Capital 2020” arranged as a part of the celebration of the Birth Centenary of the Father of the Nation played a significant role to reflect a positive brand image of Bangladesh globally specially among the youths. Keeping in mind that almost half of the global population is under 30-year-old, the Dhaka OIC Youth Capital–2020 was extremely significant and meaningful to brand Bangladesh and to encourage the young generation across the OIC member states.
Deputy High Commissioner further commented that the young generation is vital in the existing decision-making structure, leadership position, future global power dynamics, youth-led initiatives and entrepreneurship across the countries for better tomorrow. The events arranged by Bangladesh was therefore very significant to showcase Bangladesh. Dhaka OIC Youth Capital–2020 was also vital to recognize the talents in young men and women and to encourage the young generation to contribute more in their areas of interests and expertise across the countries for a better world tomorrow.
Deputy High Commissioner S. M. Mahbubul Alam also briefed on various development initiatives and sectoral achievements in Bangladesh and highlighted that Bangladesh has become a ‘Role Model’ of socio-economic development in the world. He elaborated on the success stories of Bangladesh in different issue areas including education, sports, art and culture, women empowerment, startups, youth entrepreneurships, ICT, SMEs and so forth focusing the young generation including both the men and women. A video was screened highlighting the positive images and socio-economic achievements of Bangladesh.
While expressing their impression and sentiments after receiving the awards, the Dhaka OIC Youth Capital-2020 awardees from Pakistan highly appreciated the wholistic developments in Bangladesh including in areas of socio-economic, art and culture, ICT, education and youth entrepreneurships. They expressed their gratitude for the awards on Dhaka OIC Youth Capital–2020 competition in different areas such art, design and culture. They emphasized on wider collaboration among the OIC countries and expressed their keen interest for wider cooperation with Bangladesh. They reiterated that it was their honor to receive the prestigious award from Bangladesh and convicted that “Dhaka OIC Youth Capital-2020” was profoundly encouraging for them to further excel in their areas of interest and expertise.
Bangladesh Deputy High Commissioner in Karachi S. M. Mahbubul Alam assured them for all possible cooperation from the Mission for enhancing bilateral relationships including art and culture.
