Manama, 23 January 2023:

The Embassy of Bangladesh in Manama organised a three-week solo art exhibition titled “Life in Motion” of the renowned Bangladeshi freelance artist Mr. Jahangir Hossain in collaboration with the “Colours of the East” art gallery at the Mall of Dilmunia in Muharraq city under the patronage of H.E. Shaikh Rashid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, President of the National Council for Arts of Bahrain.

As a representative of the President of the National Council for Arts, H.E. Shaikha Dhuwa Bint Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, member of National Arts Council, inaugurated the exhibition along other dignitaries. The foreign diplomats, senior Bahraini Government officials, members of Bahrain National Council for Arts, prominent businesspersons, artists, journalists, Embassy officials, and members of the Bangladeshi expatriates’ community in Bahrain attended the inaugural event. After that, H.E. Shaikha Dhuwa and Artist Mr. Jahangir toured the exhibition with Ambassadors and other guests who were all impressed and captivated by the raw talent and creativity of Mr. Jahangir that were wonderfully being portrayed by his artworks.

In his interview, Ambassador Dr. Islam expressed his pleasure in organising Mr. Jahangir’s solo art exhibition for the second time in Bahrain and praised the country for its rich history of art and culture and for its love as well as appreciation for various forms of artwork.

The guests were entertained by traditional Bangladeshi sweets along with tea and coffee during the event. They expressed their appreciation and gratitude to the Ambassador as well as the Embassy for organising such an exhibition and in response, Ambassador Dr. Islam thanked them for coming and for being a part of the exhibition’s inauguration ceremony.

It is to be noted that Mr. Jahangir’s artworks were previously exhibited in Bahrain during his first solo art exhibition titled “Hope of Life” in 2021 when the Embassy collaborated with Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA). His artworks remained on display at the Bahrain Art Centre for 15 days and they amassed a crowd just like this time.

The exhibition will remain open to the public until 13 February 2023.
