Nazrul Islam inaugurated the week-long photography exhibition titled “Glimpses of Bangladesh” organised by the Embassy of Bangladesh, Manama in association with ‘Colours of the East’ art gallery in Seef Mall, Manama. The inauguration ceremony was attended by foreign diplomats, senior officials from the Bahrain government, writers, tour operators, artists, journalists, businessmen and women, Embassy officials, and members of the Bangladeshi expatriates’ community in Bahrain.

Ambassador Dr. Islam toured the photography exhibition with the distinguished guests shortly after the inauguration ceremony and stated that an exhibition of this calibre and scale that featured beautifully captured photographs of the unique natural beauty, culture and heritage of Bangladesh was never organised in the Kingdom of Bahrain previously. The Ambassador also added that Bangladesh and Bahrain have always had excellent bilateral relations and that an initiative will be taken sometime in the near future to represent Bahrain in Bangladesh through a similar photography exhibition. He is confident that events like will lead to a greater expansion of trade and commerce between the two countries, especially in the tourism sector.

The exhibition featured 70 breath-taking photographs of Bangladesh taken by two renowned, award-winning and highly talented Bangladeshi photographers, Mr. Mustafiz Mamun and Mr. Abdul Momin. Their incredible work beautifully captured the essence of Bangladesh with photographs of its growth, culture, agriculture, economy, education, health, women's empowerment, food security and of course, its amazing natural beauty. The guests were entertained by traditional Bangladeshi light meals and sweets during the event. Everyone was thoroughly impressed by the awe-inspiring photographs of Bangladesh in the exhibition, and expressed their deepest gratitude to the Ambassador as well as the Embassy for organising and hosting such an excellent event. In response, Ambassador Dr. Islam thanked all the guests for coming and also thanked the Bangladesh Travel Writers Association, Colours of the East art gallery, Seef Mall, Bangladesh Business Forum Bahrain and BEYON Money for their cooperation in organising the photography exhibition.
