Scholarships for Bangladeshi Students as offered by ILMA University in Karachi during a meeting of Bangladesh Deputy High Commissioner

 

Karachi, 11 January 2023:

 

Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Karachi S. M. Mahbubul Alam had a meeting with the Vice-Chancellor of ILMA University Professor Dr. Mansoor uz Zafar Dawood. Chancellor of the ILMA University Mr. Noman Abid Lakhani also talked to the Deputy High Commissioner (DHC) over telephone. During the meeting between the DHC and the VC among other the Dean of the Faculty of Media Science and Design Professor Dr. Yasmeen Sultana, Dean of Research Institute of ILMA University, Head of Administration & Protocol Mr. Raoon Farid Asha, Director of Quality Assurance and Liaison Mr. Fawwad Mahmood Butt, Deputy Director, Quality Assurance and Liaison Ms. Sajida Qureshi and few other faculty members of the ILMA University were present. 

 

During the meeting between Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh and the Vice-Chancellor of ILMA University, they discussed different issues related possible cooperation in research and education between ILMA University and University in Bangladesh. The VC highly appreciated the development in education sector in Bangladesh. He attached importance for wider collaboration in research, publication and education. The VC was very happy to know that there are 172 universities and 112 medical colleges in Bangladesh. He was also impressed to know that currently the literacy rate is around 80% and the primary enrollment rate is almost 100% in Bangladesh. The graduation of Bangladesh from LDC to developing country is also highly impressive to him.

 

The Vice Chancellor mentioned that there are over 5,000 students including foreign students in the ILMA University. During the discussion between the Deputy High Commissioner and the Vice-Chancellor, the ILMA University has offered 10 (ten) Scholarships to 10 Bangladeshi Students under the ULMA Full Bright Scholarship Program (IFBSP). The Scholarships will cover 75% of their Tuition Fess and the Scholarship is aimed to establish and further strengthen the dynamic cooperation and collaboration in the areas of education and research between ILMA University and University in Bangladesh.  

 

Deputy High Commissioner S. M. Mahbubul Alam expressed his sincere thanks and profound gratitude for the generous offer of Scholarships for 10 undergraduate level students from Bangladesh for their higher studies at the ILMA University. He also assured the Chancellor and the Vice-Chancellor of ILMA University of all possible cooperation from the Bangladesh Mission in Karachi.
