The Government has decided to appoint Md. Nazmul Quaunine, currently serving as the High Commissioner of Bangladesh to theUnited Kingdom, as the new Ambassador of Bangladesh to the Kingdom of Thailand.
Md. Nazmul Quaunine is a career foreign service officer belonging to 1985 batch of Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) Foreign Affairs cadre. In his distinguished diplomatic career, Quaunine earlier served as Ambassador of Bangladesh to Indonesia and United Arab Emirates and also in various capacities in Bangladesh Missions in London, Islamabad, Washington, Kolkata and Geneva. At the headquarters, he served as Director General in charge of Europe and External Publicity wings.
Quaunine graduated from the Dhaka Medical College. After joining the service, he also undertook post graduate training on Diplomatic Studies at the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva, Switzerland as well as Executive Training Course at the South Asian Center for Strategic Studies, Washington D.C.
Quaunine is married and blessed with a son and a daughter.
