Foreign Minister Dr. Momen holds meeting with Health Minister of Timor Leste

Dhaka, 29 August 2023:

Foreign Minister Dr. A. K. Abdul Momen, MP, during his official visit to Timor Leste, met the Health Minister of Timor Leste Ms. Elia Antonio de Araujo dos Reis Amaral on 28 August 2023.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina who is a woman, has led the nation to phenomenal progress in socio-economic sectors, in particular women empowerment, poverty reduction, health, education, and digitalization, Foreign Minister highlighted. He also briefed her on the initiatives of the Government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to improve the health services and ensure access to the basic health services by the millions in the rural areas through community clinic initiative. Foreign Minister said that Bangladesh was ready to share her expertise and experience of community based engagements in health sector.

The Health Minister of Timor Leste, who is also a lady, lauded the leadership role of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The Health Minister appreciated the offer made by Bangladesh Foreign Minister for the students of Timor Leste to study medicine and other discipline of health services in Bangladesh medical colleges.
