Dhaka, 30 June 2020: 

The Government has decided to appoint Mr. Mahbub Hassan Saleh, currently serving as Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission in the Embassy of Bangladesh in Washington D.C., U.S.A., as the next Ambassador of Bangladesh to Belgium.

Ambassador-designate Mr. Saleh is a career foreign service officer belonging to 15th batch of Bangladesh Civil Service (B.C.S.) Foreign Affairs cadre. In his 24-year long distinguished diplomatic career, Mr. Saleh served in various capacities in Bangladesh Missions in Kolkata, Seoul and Canberra. He also served as the Deputy High Commissioner in Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi, India. At the headquarters, he worked in various capacities in different Wings. He represented Bangladesh in several international forums.

Mr. Mahbub Hassan Saleh obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (B.U.E.T.), Dhaka, Bangladesh, and Master’s degree in Diplomacy and Trade from Monash University, Melbourne, Australia, winning the award for top graduating student in 2001. He is also a well-known public speaker and poet.
