Foreign Office Spouses’ Association (FOSA) held Boishakhi celebration commemorating the first month of Bengali new year 1426 with the theme “ Celebration in Bangladesh” at the State Guest House Padma on 20 April 2019. The program was graced by the Foreign Minister Dr. A.K Abdul Momen, MP as the Chief Guest. Among others, Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni, MP ,State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md. Shahriar Alam, MP, Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs Md Faruk Khan,MP Foreign Secretary Md Shahidul Haque, former Ambassadors, foreign Ambassadors , members of diplomatic corps , eminent dignitaries, noted personalities and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with families were also present in the event. This year’s celebration by the FOSA projected the “Celebration in Bangladesh” across diverse culture and religious faith in Bangladesh. The FOSA President Sonia Sultana (Nasreen) made the opening speech while FOSA Chief Patron Selina Momen and FOSA Patron S. Ayesha Akhter Jahan - spouses of Foreign Minister and State Minister respectively also spoke prior to the cultural event. The cultural event featured traditional dances, songs, poems etc. while Indian and Sri lankan traditional dances were also performed on the stage. A festive “Mongol Shovajatra” marked the beginnings of the event which was ended with serving of delicious traditional cuisines and foodies.
