Highlighting Bangladesh’s Image and Economic Diplomacy: Bangladesh Deputy High Commissioner in Karachi meets and interacts with prominent industrialists, investors, entrepreneurs, exporters and importers, investment bankers, businesspersons, cultural experts and academics of Pakistan

Bangladesh Deputy High Commissioner in Karachi S. M. Mahbubul Alam had over 30 (thirty) business meetings and interactions during 15-30 October 2022 with the prominent exporters & importers, investors, industrialists, entrepreneurs, businesspersons, investment bankers, cultural activists, and academics based in Karachi. They discussed on issues related to investment opportunities in Bangladesh and export and import of different items such as tea, jute and Jute products, RMG, textiles, fibers and yarn, woven garments, leather and leather products, footwear, pharmaceuticals, cement and minerals, plastic items, paper board (corrugated cartons), ceramic tableware, chemical products, fertilizer, engineering goods, shrimp, soap, and cosmetics. They also discussed cooperation in art and culture and education and research in the meetings.

During the meetings and interactions, the Deputy High Commissioner S. M. Mahbubul Alam briefed on various development initiatives and sectoral achievements in Bangladesh. He highlighted that Bangladesh has become a ‘Role Model’ of socio-economic development in the world. Bangladesh has achieved 100% electricity coverage across the country and has been working for the establishment of 100 Special Economic Zones with foreign investment friendly policies. He further highlighted that Bangladesh has already fulfilled all the criteria for graduation to a developing country from the LDC status and the present government of Bangladesh has been striving hard to turn Bangladesh into upper middle-income country by 2031 and a developed country by 2041. He elaborated on the potential of trade and commerce and investment in Bangladesh. Highlighting the exclusive facilities and incentives Bangladesh offers for foreign investment he invited the potential investors and entrepreneurs and businesspersons from Pakistan to avail the Bangladesh’s offers and enjoy opportunity to invest in Bangladesh and import more items from Bangladesh.

 

During the meetings and interactions, the business elites and dignitaries highly appreciated the socio-economic developments in Bangladesh. They also commented that the impressive success stories of Bangladesh’s socio-economic developments are encouraging for them. Praising highly the hard working, committed, hospitable, patriotic and talented people of Bangladesh and the development model of Bangladesh they also expressed their sincere optimism for greater trade and investments between the countries. Bangladesh Deputy High Commissioner in Karachi S. M. Mahbubul Alam assured them for all possible cooperation from the Mission.
