Karachi 31 May 2023:

Bangladesh Deputy High Commissioner in Karachi, S. M. Mahbubul Alam had 20 separate business meetings and interactions during 21-31 May 2023 with more than 30 eminent dignitaries, investors, and businessmen in Pakistan.

Chairman, Vice-Chairman, President, Vice President, Managing Director, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Managing Partner, Owner & Proprietor and Director of their respective business enterprises or industries in Pakistan had business meetings with the Deputy High Commissioner. All the businesspersons who had meetings with the Deputy High Commissioner at the Chancery either already have business relations with Bangladesh and planning to expand the business relationships or are willing to start new business and economic relations with Bangladesh.

During the meetings the Deputy High Commissioner S. M. Mahbubul highlighted that Bangladesh has become a ‘Role Model’ of socio-economic development in the world. He highlighted different success stories of Bangladesh. He focused to build-up positive and bright image of Bangladesh in different fields of development. He depicted various development initiatives by the Government of Bangladesh. He briefed that Bangladesh is currently one of the five fastest growing economies in the world and Bangladesh currently ranks the 35^th largest economy in the world in terms of GDP. He briefed on the foreign investment and business friendly policies of Bangladesh. He added that Bangladesh has been working hard to establish 100 Specialized Economic Zones (SEZs) across the country with foreign investment friendly policies. He invited the potential investors, industrialist, entrepreneurs and businesspersons from Pakistan to invest in Bangladesh. He also invited the businessmen to import products from Bangladesh.

The dignitaries and eminent businesspersons were deeply impressed with the success and positive stories of Bangladesh. They highly appreciated the commendable and remarkable socio-economic developments in Bangladesh. They also expressed their willingness for wider trade and economic interactions with Bangladesh. They attached importance for exchange of more business delegations between Bangladesh and Pakistan. They also requested for smooth visa processing with long term visa to facilitate their business visits to Bangladesh. Deputy High Commissioner assured the eminent businesspersons of all possible cooperation from the Mission in Karachi.
