Statement on launching of Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) by Democratic People’s Republic of Korea

Bangladesh is gravely concerned at the recent launching by Democratic People’s Republic of Korea of an Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM).
By launching the missile, the DPRK has shown total disregard to the relevant UN Security Council resolutions. Bangladesh would like to call upon DPRK to honor its international obligation and commitments and refrain from such show of force and defiance.
As a signatory to the NPT and CTBT, Bangladesh would continue to work with the International Community for the renunciation of the use of force in international relations and for general and complete disarmament.
