Foreign Minister urged IUT graduates to take inspiration from the glorious past of the Muslim Ummah

 

Dhaka, 23 May 2022: 
 
 
Foreign Minister Dr. A. K. Abdul Momen, M.P. called upon the IUT graduates to take inspiration from the glorious past of the Muslim Ummah, and work relentlessly for socio-economic development of mankind, while delivering a speech as Chief Guest at the 34th Convocation of Islamic University of Technology (IUT) held on 23 May 2022 at IUT Campus, Gazipur.
 
 
In his speech, Foreign Minister congratulated the passing graduates, and fondly recalled the glorious days of Islam. He further added that Muslim scholar’s significant contribution to science, arts and literature in Islamic Golden Age paved the way for modern civilization. 
 
 
Dr. Momen recalled with gratitude the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, under whose visionary leadership Bangladesh joined the OIC in 1974. He congratulated the IUT authority for successful completion of their academic year despite coronavirus pandemic, and reiterated Government of Bangladesh’s continued cooperation and support to IUT.
 
 
Foreign Minister handed over certificates to the doctorate students, and OIC and IUT gold medal to students who have excelled in their respective fields. 
 
 
Agriculture Minister Dr. Muhammad Abdur Razzaque, M.P., Vice-Chancellor of IUT, visiting delegation from the OIC General Secretariat, members of the diplomatic corps and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also attended the convocation ceremony.
