“Doing Business with Bangladesh”: Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Karachi Arranges an Interactive Session to Promote Business and Export from Bangladesh and Extends Support for their Participation at the “Made in Bangladesh Week 2022” to be held in Dhaka during 12-18 November 2022

 

Karachi, 14 November 2022:

 

Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Karachi arranges an interactive session titled “Doing Business with Bangladesh” with businesspersons in Pakistan to promote business and export from Bangladesh at the Chancery on 11 November 2022. Representatives of different renowned companies, which have already business with Bangladesh and which are willing to develop business relationships with Bangladesh were present at the business promotional program.    

 

Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Karachi S. M. Mahbubul Alam briefed businesspersons and importers on the investment and business opportunities in Bangladesh. He highlighted on export items from Bangladesh such as tea, jute and Jute products, RMG, textiles, woven garments, leather and leather products, footwear, pharmaceuticals, plastic items, paper board (corrugated cartons), ceramic products, chemical products, engineering goods, shrimp, soap, and cosmetics.

 

Deputy High Commissioner S. M. Mahbubul Alam also briefed on various development initiatives and sectoral achievements in Bangladesh and highlighted that Bangladesh has become a ‘Role Model’ of socio-economic development in the world. Bangladesh has achieved 100% electricity coverage across the country and has been working for the establishment of 100 Special Economic Zones with foreign investment friendly policies. He elaborated on the potential of trade and commerce and investment in Bangladesh and invited them to invest in Bangladesh and import more items from Bangladesh. A video was screened highlighting the trade and investment potential in Bangladesh.

 

During interactions, the businesspersons and importers highly appreciated the socio-economic developments in Bangladesh and expressed their keen interest for wider business and economic relationships with Bangladesh. They also expressed their willingness to participate at the “Made in Bangladesh Week 2022” to be organized by the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) during 13-18 November 2022, which will be held at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) in Dhaka and will be inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina. Bangladesh Missions in Pakistan extend all possible support to facilitate their participation at the “Made in Bangladesh Week 2022” in Dhaka. It is expected that around 16 businesspersons or representatives of different relevant companies from Pakistan will participate at the “Made in Bangladesh Week 2022” in Dhaka during 12-18 November 2022.

 

Bangladesh Deputy High Commissioner in Karachi S. M. Mahbubul Alam presented them souvenirs on Bangladesh and assured them for all possible cooperation from the Mission for enhancing trade and economic relationships with Pakistan.
