Dhaka, 17 December 2023:
Commemorating the 53rd Victory Day of Bangladesh, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh proudly announces the launch of 2nd Bangabandhu Diplomatic Cup Tennis Tournament, an initiative aimed at promoting Diplomatic ties and friendship through the spirit of sportsmanship.
Ambassador Masud Bin Momen, Foreign Secretary (Senior Secretary) inaugurated the tournament today. The tournament will take place from 17 -21 December 2023 at the Diplomatic Tennis Court of State Guest House-Meghna during 1600 – 2030 hrs. Diplomats from eight different countries: Australia, Canada, China, Denmark, Pakistan, Russia, Sweden and the UK; and the officers from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are participating in the tournament as a gesture of goodwill and friendship.
The tournament will feature double matches to showcase the best of the abilities of the participating diplomats. Participants will not only compete on the tennis court, but also engage in cultural exchanges, discussions, and networking during the tournament.
The final match and the prize giving ceremony will be held on 21 December 2023 at 1700 hrs. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs warmly welcomes diplomats stationed in Bangladesh to support and participate in this celebration.
