Jakarta, 29 June 2021:

The Embassy of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh in Jakarta celebrated 50 years of    Bilateral Relations between Bangladesh and Indonesia, on 21 June 2022 at a local hotel in Jakarta. There was spontaneous participation of the Ambassadors and the members of diplomatic community in Jakarta with their spouses, high officials of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other ministries and organizations of Indonesia, head of international organizations, eminent personalities, renowned businessmen, journalists and the member of the community of Bangladesh living in Indonesia. His Excellency Mr. Abdul Kadir Jailani, Director General for Asia, Pacific and African Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia graced the program a Guest of Honour.

The event commenced with playing of National Anthems of Indonesia and Bangladesh. Then Video Messages from Hon’ble Foreign Minister of the Republic of Indonesia Her Excellency Retno L P Marsudi and Hon’ble Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh His Excellency Dr. A K Abdul Momen, MP were presented to the audience. On the occasion of this august celebration, both the Foreign Ministers expressed their optimism to strengthen bilateral tie between Bangladesh and Indonesia in higher height in future. Then Ambassador of Bangladesh Air Vice Marshal Mohammad Mostafizur Rahman and the Guest of Honour His Excellency Mr. Abdul Kadir Jailani, Director General for Asia, Pacific and African Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia delivered their valuable speech on the momentous occasion. The Ambassador of Bangladesh underscored in his speech the recent achievements that Bangladesh attained under the great leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister of Bangladesh H.E. Sheikh Hasina and mentioned Pharmaceutical, tourism, agricultural, MSMEs, blue economy, disaster management and humanitarian assistance as potential sectors cooperation Bangladesh and Indonesia.  His Excellency Mr. Abdul Kadir Jailani highlighted the future potentiality of trade and commerce between both countries. A cake was cut and video documentaries on the present achievements of Bangladesh, tourism and cultural activities was screened on the event. All the guests were impressed and lots of interests was created about investments opportunities and potentiality about Bangladesh. The event was widely circulated in the local news media covering around twenty newspapers which created positive impact on Bangladesh in relation to its recent achievements and its potentials.  At the end, the guests were entertained with dinner.
