Cultural Diplomacy: Bangladesh Deputy High Commissioner in Karachi meets with the Director of Sindh Historical Museum in Hyderabad to promote Cultural Diplomacy

 

Karachi, 10 June 2023:

 

Bangladesh Deputy High Commissioner in Karachi, S. M. Mahbubul Alam had a meeting with Mr. Talat Ghani Khan, Director Sindh Provincial Historical Museum in Hyderabad on 10 June 2023. Other Officials of the Museum were also present during the meeting.  

 

Deputy High Commission highlighted that Bangladesh is now among the five fastest growing economies in the world, ranking 35th in terms of GDP. He added that the per capita income of Bangladesh is USD2824 and the income and purchasing power of the people of Bangladesh including those living the rural areas have increased. Bangladesh has been working to make all the civic amenities available in the villages. Bangladesh has already achieved 100% electricity coverage across the country. Bangladesh has 100% primary enrollment and 100% child vaccination track record. He further added that Bangladesh deeply cares for the promotion of culture of the land.

 

 Bangladesh Deputy High Commissioner mentioned that Bangladesh is a country of religious harmony. Bangladesh believes and practices in “Culture of Peace”. Deputy High Commissioner further mentioned that Bangladesh has been pursuing the foreign policy of “Friendship to all and malice towards none” since her Independence in 1971 as was postulated by the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

 

Deputy High Commissioner highlighted that Bangladesh has been excelling in all socio-economic indices holistically leaving no one behind. Bangladesh’s policy for women education and women empowerment is very robust. Bangladesh is a country of rich cultural heritage and tradition of thousand years. Bangladesh attaches huge importance to the protection and promotion of history, music, art & culture, tradition and heritage. Bangladesh is a secular democratic country with traditional inclusive society. Rights of all from all strata of the society are well protected in Bangladesh as per the provision of Bangladesh National Constitution. Bangladesh values the societal institutions and unique traditions of thousand years, which shape the cultural identity and the nation of Bangladesh. Deputy High Commissioner added that the present government of Bangladesh has been working for a 100 percent literate, technologically sound, digitally smart and cultural-minded Bangladesh.

 

Bangladesh Deputy High Commissioner in Karachi S. M. Mahbubul Alam also discussed with the Director, Sindh Provincial Museum Mr. Talat Ghani Khan the issues of mutual collaboration in promotion of music, art and culture between the two countries.

 

Director, Sindh Provincial Museum Mr. Talat Ghani Khan has shown his enthusiasm to know the positive stories of Bangladesh. He was profoundly appreciative of Bangladesh’s socio-economic development vis-à-vis her cultural and traditional richness.

 

Director, Sindh Provincial Museum Mr. Talat Ghani Khan presented the Deputy High Commissioner the traditional ‘Sindhi Azrak’ and ‘Sindhi Cap’. Deputy High Commissioner also presented mementos and souvenir on Bangladesh to the Director and his colleagues.
