Karachi, 10 June 2023:

Bangladesh Deputy High Commissioner in Karachi addressed a big group of students and young lawyers arranged on 10 June 2023 in Hyderabad. Over 200 students, young lawyers and other dignitaries were present at the program.

 Deputy High Commissioner mentioned that Bangladesh is an independent country since 1971. Bangladesh achieved her independence under the charismatic leadership of the Father of the Nation of Bangladesh Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. He mentioned that Bangladesh under the Premiership of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman adopted unanimously the National Constitution of Bangladesh in the National Assembly on 04 November 1972. The well crafted National Constitution of Bangladesh was effective from 16 December 1972, on the day of 1^st Anniversary of the Victory Day of Bangladesh. 

Deputy High Commissioner mentioned that the Article-25 of the National Constitution of Bangladesh depicts few fundamental principles of Bangladesh Foreign Policy. He mentioned that Bangladesh, as an Independent State bases its international relations on the principles of respect for national sovereignty and equality, non interference in the internal affairs of other countries, peaceful settlement of international disputes, and respect for international law and the principles enunciated in the United Nations Charter.

Deputy High Commissioner further mentioned that Bangladesh has been pursuing the foreign policy of “Friendship to all and malice towards none” since her Independence in 1971 as was postulated by the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, which continues to provide the philosophical underpinning of Bangladesh’s pro-peace foreign policy. Father of the Nation propounded the peace and development-centric foreign policy, which remains the guiding principle of Bangladesh’s diplomatic engagements today.
