“Book Fair” Arranged during 21-23 February 2024 by Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Karachi to Commemorate the Martyrs Day 2024

 

Karachi: 22 February 2024

 

Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Karachi arranged a 3-Day long “Omor Ekushey Boi Mela” during 21-23 February 2024.

 

Visitors including young children and senior citizens, Professor of Karachi University, professionals of different fields, Students of different schools, Nazrul Academy office bearers, artists, and other people visited the Book Fair arranged by the Bangladesh Mission in Karachi.

 

The Book Fair was aimed to showcase history of the Language Movement in 1952, and the Art, Literature, Culture, and Tradition of Bangladesh. Rare collection of books on the War of Independence, Political History of Bangladesh, and Books on the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman were on display on the Book Fair. Over 400 books of different fields were on the display.

 

The Book Fair was arranged also to uphold the importance of Mother Language and the Glorious history of Bangladesh’s Language Movement and the Importance of International Mother Language Day as is being observed globally by the UNESCO.   

 

The Mission warmly welcomed the visitors to the Book Fair. Special Gifts and Souvenirs were distributed among all the visitors during the week. Special Dinner were served on 21 February and refreshments were served on the other days during the period of Book Fair.

 

All the visitors were delighted and enlightened to visit the Book Fair arranged by the Bangladesh Mission in Karachi.
