New Ambassador-designate of Bahrain to Bangladesh pays courtesy call on Hon’ble Foreign Minister

 

His Excellency  Ambassador Abdul Rahman Mohamed Al Gaoud , new Ambassador-designate of Bahrain to Bangladesh (resident in New Delhi) paid a courtesy call on Hon’ble Foreign Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud, MP this afternoon at the latter’s office. 

 

During the call on, Hon’ble Foreign Minister termed the ties between the two countries as the excellent one and hoped that during his tenure, it would grow in depth and dimension in various areas of cooperation including trade and commerce, manpower employment, culture, education and so on.  He thanked the Bahraini Government for hosting a good number of Bangladeshis who were contributing to the economies of both the countries.  The Bahraini Ambassador-designate thanked the Foreign Minister for his warm welcome and expressed keen interests to further enhance the bilateral ties, particularly economic collaboration between the two countries. He apprised the Minister of the contribution of exapt Bangladeshis in different trades with diligence and honour except a handful few having involved in violating the law of the land. 

 

Hon’ble Foreign Minister enquired about the direct air connectivity between Chattogram and Manama and hoped that Gulf Airlines could operate additional flights between Chattogram and Manama which would further boost people to people contact between the two countries. Responding positively to the Foreign Minister' s proposal, the visiting Ambassador- designate sought the Minister's assistance in enhancing additional frequency for the gulf airways to do so. 

 

Hon’ble Foreign Minister also raised the issue of expatriate family members from Bahrain in Bangladesh during Covid- 19 and sought the envoy's cooperation in issuing visas for them and help them to get united with immediate family membets in Bahrain.

 

During the meeting, both sides also exchanged views on the means and ways to enhance two way trade and investment between the two countries. The Bahraini envoy informed the Foreign Minister about his government's plan in opening a  diplomatic mission in Dhaka to further promote businesses and people-to-people connectivity. The Bahraini Ambassador- designate paid a courtesy call on with the Foreign Secretary HE  Masud bin Momen in the latter's office this afternoon today. The non-resident Ambassador based in New Delhi is scheduled to submit his letter of credentces to the Hon' ble President tomorrow.
