Businessmen in Pakistan meet with Bangladesh Deputy High Commissioner in Karachi

 

Karachi, 08 May 2024:

 

Bangladesh Deputy High Commissioner in Karachi, S. M. Mahbubul Alam had several business meetings and interactions at the Chancery during 01-07 May 2024 with more than 10 businessperson and entrepreneurs in Pakistan.

 

Deputy High Commissioner mentioned that Bangladesh has become a ‘Role Model’ of socio-economic development in the world and Bangladesh is currently one of the five fastest growing economies in the world. Bangladesh currently ranks the 35th largest economy in the world in terms of GDP. Bangladesh has the per capita income of USD2824 and the purchasing power of the people has increased.

 

S. M. Mahbubul Alam highlighted the Vision-2021, Vision-2031 and Vision-2041 and Delta Plan-2100. He also highlighted mega-projects such as the Padma Bridge, Dhaka Metro Rail, Matarbari Power Project, Rooppur Nuclear Station, Bangabandhu Satelite-1, Bangabandhu Tunnel under the river Karnaphuli, Sonadia Deep Sea Port, Dhaka Elevated Expressway, International Airport at Cox’s Bazar, and Third Terminal at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

 

Deputy High Commissioner invited the potential investors, entrepreneurs and businesspersons from Pakistan to invest in Bangladesh. He also invited the businessmen to import products from Bangladesh. The eminent businesspersons were deeply impressed with the success and positive stories of Bangladesh and they highly appreciated the impressive socio-economic developments in Bangladesh. They also deeply appreciated the dynamic and visionary leadership of Bangladesh. They expressed their willingness to invest and to expand their business with Bangladesh. They also requested for smooth visa for businesspersons from Pakistan.

 

Bangladesh Deputy High Commissioner in Karachi, S. M. Mahbubul Alam handed over gifts and souvenirs on Bangladesh to the businesspersons.
